Happy Labor Day, CLE! I hope you’re enjoying the holiday weekend. I had a fabulous one, as I got to be Maid of Honor for one of my best friends and her now-husband.
The wedding festivities started off on Thursday evening with the rehearsal dinner. The dinner was at Massimo da Milano.
The restaurant was cheerfully decorated in bright colors and flowers. We feasted on a huge buffet of Italian food, from pasta with marinara sauce to chicken piccata to breaded eggplant. The food was delicious and the staff was warm and friendly.
We also got to enjoy some of the groom’s father’s homemade wine.
The bride and groom also had small bottles of olive oil for everyone to take home with them as a favor. CLEguy and I have already used ours in cooking this weekend!
It was a wonderful evening with family and close friends as we got ready for a weekend of celebration.
On Friday evening, the bride treated the bridesmaids to manicures and pedicures at Anthony Vince Nail Spa.
If you haven’t been to Anthony Vince, you have to check it out! This spa also has a full-service bar. We sipped on champagne while getting out tootsies polished and relaxing in fabulous massage chairs. What a wonderful bridesmaid gift!
After the spa time, we headed to the Winking Lizard downtown for the out-of-town guests happy hour. This was a nice chance to chat with people before the busy-ness of the reception. Plus, we got to enjoy our first sips of that must-drink fall beer: Southern Tier Pumking!
Saturday morning, we bridesmaids were up bright and early to get our hair done at Avanti Salon West. From there, we headed to the old Arcade to get pictures taken.
The Arcade provided a beautiful setting for pictures, with the gold banisters and plenty of natural light.
Then it was on to the ceremony at St. Stephen’s.
This is a beautiful church, built in the 1800’s and filled with intricate woodwork. However, this was not the original church in which the bride and groom planned to get married. Originally, the ceremony was to be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, but due to damage from the recent storm, the ceremony had to be moved one week before the wedding. I am amazed at how calm the bride was at handling this situation! And everything came together perfectly!
From the ceremony, we piled in our P. Diddy-style limo and headed for a little tour of CLE for pictures. We stopped at Edgewater Park for some beautiful shots with sunny Lake Erie in the background. From there, we went to the Cleveland Board of Education building, which must be a popular photo spot, as we ran into another bridal party there too.
Then, we arrived at the beautiful Windows on the River for the reception. With the CLE skyline as our background, we ate and danced and laughed the night away. Here are a few favorite pictures from the reception:
Much thanks to the bride and groom for letting me be a part of this special day. It is so obvious how much they love each other and how happy they will be. And their wedding was such a great celebration of all things Cleveland, too! I can’t think of a better way to spend a holiday weekend! Hope yours was happy too!
