Why? Ohio Blogging Wine Tasting!

One of the things I love most about CLE is how, even in areas you think you know well, there’s usually some hidden gem of a place just waiting to become your new favorite spot. That was certainly true for me at last night’s Ohio Blogging Association meet-up at Wine and Design in Tremont.

Tucked next to St. Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral is this cozy little shop filled with wine, fabulous decor (I had to physically stop myself from buying one of the paintings and just about everything else in there), and Greg, one of the nicest people you’ll meet.

Greg and Dan (who we didn’t get to meet, but I hear is just as sweet as Greg) kindly allowed Wine and Design to be overrun by bloggers for our monthly Ohio Blogging Association meet-up. Tammy of Miss WineOH was our guide for a 6-wine tasting, complimented by some tasty munchies.

Soprasetta on crostini, hummus from The South Side, and Campbell's Dichotomy popcorn
Sharp cheddar and brie with spicy pepper jam

The six wines we tasted ranged from a 2010 Monmousseau Champagne to a 2010 Domaine Aime Cabernet Franc to a 2010 Stella Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. The Montepulciano was my favorite and, at $12.99, it didn’t take much time to decide to take home a bottle.

As always, Miss WineOH’s tasting was relaxed, fun, and yet still educational. She has 2 cupcake pairing events in March, so check out her website for details!

Over wine and snacks the conversation ranged from the appreciation of “bubbles” that seems to come in your 30’s to Jump Back Ball (and JBB dresses) to the Cleveland City Living awards to the Madonna concert to paczki.

Kristian brought paczki!

  1. Thanks for the great recap…I was just sitting down to get to mine! LOL

It was great seeing you, sorry we didn’t have much time to chat!

That was such a great event, look forward to many more.

  2. So happy to see you – and thank you for the opportunity to put the event together. great recap! Based on the feedback, (and the quickly vanishing brie) my friend who made the pepper jelly may have a market in Cleveland. 🙂

Thanks again, Jen. You totally rock.
