When my pal Heather from Mile 26 and More told me she signed up to be the coach for the Cleveland Liver Life Challenge team, I wasn’t surprised. She’s a superstar runner and a great motivator. Plus, she’s doing it all for a great cause. Which is why when she asked me to help spread the word, I couldn’t say no!
The American Liver Foundation Liver Life Challenge is a chance for people to come together and train to both reach a fitness goal and raise money for the American Liver Foundation. The Cleveland team is training to run in the 2013 Walt Disney World Marathon in January.
Team members can sign up for the half-marathon (13.1 miles), marathon (26.2 miles), or Goofy challenge (39.3 miles). You get to run through one of the happiest places on earth, plus help raise money for this organization doing so much to help those with liver disease.
So, let’s review: physical fitness in a fun locale all to help others. Still need more reason to sign up? As a Cleveland team member, you’ll get personalized coaching from Heather, team meetings and training, and help with logistics. Once you commit to the $3,400 fundraising goal, your airfare, accommodations, race registration, and most meals are provided by the American Liver Foundation.
Plus, you’ll get fundraising help from Katrina, who is just as great a motivator as Heather! Ready to take the challenge? You can email Katrina at firstname.lastname@example.org or Heather at email@example.com. Or just head over to www.liverfoundation.org/disneymarathon.
Best of luck to the Cleveland Liver Life Challenge team as they train, raise funds, and run through Disney!
