One of Cleveland’s best known, best loved, and most respected institutions – The West Side Market – is turning 100 years old!
There are lots of events taking place to honor the Market and allow its customers and supporters to celebrate this historic birthday.
On Sunday, October 7 from 11am-8pm, the Street Fest and Parade will take place.

The Market will be open on Sunday for the first time in a decade. You can shop for delicious produce, meats, spices, and sweets to take home. You can also eat and drink your way down West 25th Street, as local restaurants set up tents and beer gardens. There will be live music, the parade, and family-friendly activities at the Ohio City Farm.
Admission is free and space is plentiful, so be sure to check out this day of fun celebrating the West Side Market.
On Friday, November 2 – the Market’s actual birthday – the People’s Party is taking place at Crop Bistro & Bar. Combining a host of local chefs and restaurateurs from Steve Schimoler to Sam McNulty to Dante Boccuzzi, the People’s Party will pack Crop Bistro with food, music, drinks, and fun. Proceeds benefit The West Side Market. Ticket price was set at a very reasonable $25 and tickets are sold out!
Then, on Saturday, November 3, the Centennial Gala will be held at the West Side Market.

The Centennial Gala is co-chaired by hometown chefs Michael Symon and Jonathon Sawyer combines both local and national celebrity chefs for a unique tasting dinner, prepared with ingredients purchased from The West Side Market. So, who is preparing this food?

How do you plan to celebrate the West Side Market’s birthday? I’ll be at the Street Fest and the People’s Party. I hope to see a lot of you out and about celebrating one of the country’s best public markets and one of Cleveland’s true treasures.
Wow–action packed celebration!! All wonderful chefs using fresh produce from the West Side Market?! Sounds like a CLE gal dream to true 🙂
I’ll be at all three. We’re so lucky to have something like the WSM!
Very cool! Sadly I can’t go to the Gala but we will absolutely be at the parade!
There are so many things I love about CLE, but the most loved thing is the WSM! Everytime I visit my hometown, it’s ont he must do list. I hope every Clevelander appreciates that place! I sooo miss it!
