***A bit of blogkeeping: Congratulations to danielle (Comment #14), randomly-selected winner of 2 VIP Big Kahuna tickets to Shoes and Clothes for Kids’ Luau on the Lake. Please check your email and respond by the end of the day or a new winner will be chosen. If you didn’t win, you can still purchase tickets by clicking here.***
As I may have mentioned here on the blog, Matthew was born in Texas. In fact, a lot of his family live down there and we’re going for a wedding/vacation/visit in September. So, you can imagine how exciting a dinner and book signing with Daniel Vaughn, author of “The Prophet of Smoked Meat: A Journey Through Texas Barbeque” would be.
Unfortunately, I cannot attend (cue sad trombone). I imagine the Texas family will disown me. But I digress. The dinner and book signing are taking place on Tuesday, June 18 at The Greenhouse Tavern. Chef Brian Goodman and author Daniel Vaughn will collaborate on a feast that includes GHT’s BBQ half pig face, whole roasted Ohio CAB’s head, and more.

The event starts with cocktails at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7pm. Tickets are $85 and can be purchased online. Or you can enter to win 2 tickets right here (along with the love and admiration of my Texas family)!
Here’s how to enter: you can do one, two, or all three entries, just leave a SEPARATE blog comment for each entry.
1. Tell me your favorite style of BBQ (Texas, Carolina, etc.).
2. Follow @thegreenhouse and @WhyCLE on Twitter and leave a comment letting me know you’re following both.
3. Tweet the following phrase and leave a comment letting me know you tweeted:
Hey @WhyCLE, send me to eat BBQ with @thegreenhouse, @chefgoodguy, and @bbqsnob! http://wp.me/p1fb9r-1xE
You can tweet once per day for additional entries, just leave a separate comment each time you tweet.
The giveaway will close on Sunday, June 16 at 11:59pm and the winner will be announced the following day. Good luck!
***Disclosure: I was asked by The Greenhouse Tavern to help promote this dinner. In exchange, I was offered 2 tickets for myself and 2 tickets to give away. Due to scheduling conflicts, I sadly declined my tickets. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***

My favorite BBQ is “any”. I love ribs that can stand on their own without sauce. You know they’re good then.

I used to be a huge fan of Kansas City Style BBQ but recently have move to more of a Memphis style since it seems to have a little more bite and is not quite as sweet.
