Wedding season is upon us! This weekend, I was a bridesmaid for the wedding of our friends Chrissy and Mike. I took Friday off from work to fully immerse myself in pre-wedding preparations. Friday morning, the bridesmaids and moms got pampered with manicures and pedicures.
On Friday afternoon, I arranged a private yoga class at Nishkama Yoga for the girls. Chrissy has really gotten into practicing yoga lately and what better way to relax and center before the big day then with a gentle vinyasa class? Ylonda always teaches a great class, but I’m so grateful to her for making this one extra special!
Later that day, it was off to the rehearsal, then the dinner at Houlihan’s in Westlake. It was a nice evening with the couple’s closest friends and family. The food was good and the atmosphere was relaxed.
Saturday was the big day. Chrissy and Mike were married at St. Anthony of Padua in Parma, which was my home parish for many years. The bride looked stunning and the groom looked very handsome.
It was a lovely ceremony and I couldn’t be happier than to be a part of this couple’s start to a long, happy life together!
After the ceremony, we went around University Circle for pictures by Severance Hall and the Cleveland Museum of Art. CLE certainly has a lot of gorgeous locations for photos! We also had a lot of fun just hanging out on the limo bus and chatting with the rest of the bridal party.
Then it was party time! The reception was held at St. Michael’s Woodside. There was a lot dancing, some happy tears, much twirling from the flower girl, and just general celebrating.
It was a happy night, toasting to the happy couple! Thanks so much for letting me be part of your special day! Much love and enjoy that fabulous honeymoon!
Sunday was mostly about recovering from the rest of the weekend. I also had the opportunity to attend a yoga class at Cleveland Yoga taught by a Why CLE? reader. Scott Supler reached out after my recent post on what practicing yoga has taught me and invited me to check out one of his classes.
The one time I had practiced at Cleveland Yoga previously, I was intimidated by the class and the other yogis. Maybe I was too new in my practice or maybe I got caught up in it being THE Cleveland Yoga, but it wasn’t the best experience. I hadn’t been back since, but Scott’s class helped change my view of Cleveland Yoga. It was ridiculously hot, but a great class with some genuinely nice people, including Cherie, creator of NamaSTAY Yoga Towels! It really does matter what head space you’re in when you practice and, of course, who your teacher is. Check out Scott’s classes sometime!
How was your weekend? Do you have any weddings this wedding season?
***Disclosure: I was invited to attend the class at Cleveland Yoga as a guest of the teacher. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***
