Last night, I finally got the chance to check out District, the latest edition to the Playhouse Square neighborhood. I met up with some fabulous gals for a happy hour that was long on laughs, girl talk, cocktails and delicious food.
Our server, Jared, added to the girls’ night fun by being charming and playful and having the perfect read on what the table needed.
I started with a flight of wines from Orin Swift, with custom-created red blends representing Spain, France, and Italy. Every Monday should end this way!
For my entree, I chose the chicken breast, served in a very light white wine cream sauce with tomatoes and mushrooms, alongside rice pilaf. I really enjoyed the fresh, light, summery flavors in the vegetables and sauce.
For dessert, I indulged in dark chocolate ganache served with an espresso Kahlua soup. It was rich and sinful and delicious!
District is filled with light and clean lines. I love how open, bright, and simple in decor the restaurant is.
District provides a great after-work or pre-theater dining option. Have you tried District? What is your favorite spot in Playhouse Square?
Thank you so much, Jen, for the wonderful blog post and great pictures. We’ll share this with our staff, especially Jared and very much look forward to seeing you in again soon!

I haven’t been here yet, but definitely going to try out! I should have stopped in when I saw Book of Mormon– I’ll have to check it out next time. That dark chocolate ganache looks to die for!!!
