Why? Luau on the Lake!

I always say that you know it’s a really good weekend when you have to split up your weekend recaps!

Saturday morning, I was hoping to check out Harmony Yoga’s Yoga at the River. This is an all-levels class taught at Todd Field in Willoughby, near the Chagrin River. These classes are donation-based and the money benefits a different local charity each week.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, so I ended up with power pilates instead. However, Yoga at the River continues every Saturday morning at 9am until August 15, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to check it out before the summer is over!

Saturday afternoon, I met up with Kimberly who was my date for the Shoes and Clothes for Kids Luau on the Lake. We headed to Whiskey Island to enjoy all the tiki-themed fun.

It turned into a beautiful day to hang out near the lake, watch sailboats, jet skis, and paddleboards go by, and sip beachy drinks.

There was lots island-themed food, summery drinks from margaritas to Barefoot wines to beer, and plenty of good music from the DJ, along with sand volleyball and lots of lawn games like cornhole and life-sized Jenga.

I can’t imagine living somewhere without water close by. It’s just so calming! We also ran into CharleneJess, and Julie along the way, which made the afternoon even more fun.

The best part is that all proceeds from Luau on the Lake benefit the good work that Shoes and Clothes for Kids is doing to provide essential items to income-eligible families in Cleveland. I love a luau and even more so when it’s for a good cause!

After the Luau on the Lake, there was more summer fun to be had at the Hansen household. We headed to Alicia and Hans’ for a BBQ, with plenty of food, friends, and fuzz!

What a full, fun Saturday! Stop back tomorrow to hear all about the tasty fun at the Taste of Tremont!

How was your weekend?

***Disclosure: I was asked by Shoes and Clothes for Kids to help promote Luau on the Lake. In exchange, I received 2 complimentary Big Kahuna VIP tickets. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***

  2. Yoga on the river sounds awesome – love that it’s donation based!
I wish I could have made it to Taste of Tremont, too — so I’ll be back tomorrow to drool over your post.
