Is anyone else freaked out that it’s August already? I still act like a kid whose summer vacation is fast coming to an end around this time of year. So, here are some fun activities to keep the summer vibes flowing for a bit longer:
Cinema at the Square
Thursday, August 1 through Sunday, August 18
Palace Theater at Playhouse Square
Come enjoy classic movies such as Grease, Citizen Kane, and Sixteen Candles in the beautiful surroundings of the Palace Theater. There is also a pre-movie organ recital before each show and a tasty snack bar to enjoy. Of special note is the showing of The Princess Bride on Thursday, August 15: this is Partner’s night at Cinema at the Square and the 2014 Jump Back Ball theme will be unveiled! Tickets are only $5 or you can buy a FlixTix pass and get 6 vouchers for $15. Click here for a complete list of movies and to purchase tickets.
Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3, starting at 1pm
Lake Metroparks Farmpark
It’s the 19th annual Vintage Ohio, a festival of Ohio wine, food, and crafts! There will be tons of wine from Ohio wineries to sample, cooking demonstrations, opportunities to chat with the winemakers, and much more. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door for an adult sampler pass. To purchase tickets, click here.
Krusty’s Summer Sauce Camp
Saturday, August 3, starting at 12pm
Whiskey Island Marina
It’s the last year for what has become one of Cleveland’s must-attend summer events. Krusty’s is an all-day party on Whiskey Island, with unlimited food and drinks, as well as live music from Chris Allen, Disco Inferno, and Lonesome Stars. Tickets are $60 at the door. All proceeds benefit Malachi House, which provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the terminally ill. For more information on Krusty’s, click here.
The Feast of the Assumption
Thursday, August 15 through Sunday, August 18
“The Feast” may just be the ultimate Cleveland summer festival. It’s certainly the most crowded! The streets of Little Italy will be packed with vendors, beer gardens, live music, and more cavatelli and cannoli than you could ever possibly eat. Admission is free, you just pay for your food and drink as you go.
