I can’t believe Labor Day is here! This summer just flew by! Friday night, Matthew and I went to the “believe in CLE” event, put on by lululemon athletica Eton Chagrin and Inner Bliss Yoga Studio. This was part yoga practice, part dance party, part inspiration, and all around lots of fun!
This was by far the largest yoga practice I’d ever participated in and to see a thousand people gathered at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with the “believe in CLE” theme to connect us, was really awesome!
The practice was led by Tammy Lyons of Inner Bliss. It was a great, powerful vinyasa flow filled with so much positive energy. As the sun went down and I looked at the Cleveland skyline (usually upside down from my downward dog), I felt surrounded by hope and love, for this city and for my life.
I had been avoiding my mat for a couple weeks, for emotional not physical reasons, and this was just the kind of experience I needed to bring me firmly back to the power of yoga.
On Saturday, we spent the day down in Hartville as part of a “Discover Hartville” campaign. Stay tuned for more on that (plus a giveaway) next week! But here’s a little sneak peek:
Sunday, we met up with friends Rich and Rachel for dinner. We ended up at Beach Club Grill, which I would classify as a “strip mall surprise.” The outside is nondescript, but the inside has some charming nooks and a nice patio in the back.
The menu has everything from burgers to pizzas to pasta dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meals and had extra to take home. I would particularly recommend the sweet potato fries!
We also tried a brand new pumpkin beer: Jack-O Traveler Shandy. This was like pumpkin pie in a glass and was easier drinking (read: lower alcohol content) than Pumking.
After dinner, we came back to the house for a good, old-fashioned game night. I haven’t had one of those in a long time and was reminded how fun they can be!
How was your weekend? Did you attend the “believe in CLE” event? Whatever you did/do, have a fun and safe unofficial sendoff to summer!
