Why? The BottleHouse!

Pro-tip: If you’re meeting friends at a restaurant for dinner, it is best to check that said restaurant is open on said day. Such was the fate of Amanda, Beth, and I when we met up for dinner (OK, hanging out in the parking lot) at Katz Club Diner on Monday. We’ll be back, Katz Club!

In need of food, we headed up the street a bit to The BottleHouse, a small-batch brewery and eatery. What we found was a charming local hang-out with an eclectic beer list.

The BottleHouse has their own selection of small-batch beer, including their own mead, pumpkin ale, chocolate milk stout, and ginger saison.

There are also pinball machines, tabletop games (they have their own Jenga tournament), and a stage for live entertainment.

The food menu is small, but quite tasty, offering burgers, savory waffles, pierogi, and salads. I chose the classic BottleHouse burger, served with fries. The burger was juicy, the fries were perfect seasoned with sea salt and fresh black pepper, and there is something addictive about the pickles.

Amanda chose one of the savory waffles – a “rye” waffle sandwiched corned beef, cheese, and thousand island dressing. She definitely enjoyed her choice and would recommend it!

Food service is all run through the bartender and the kitchen was a bit slow, but the service was pleasant and the atmosphere relaxed.

While we were originally bummed that our dinner choice wasn’t open, we were pleasantly surprised with what we found at BottleHouse and will definitely be back!

Have you ever had plans change only to discover a great new spot?
