It was a busy weekend filled with great Cleveland-centered activities. On Friday night, I was Kimberly‘s guest for Yellowcake Shop‘s Hullabaloo fashion show. Held at the Screw Factory Artists’ Studios in Lakewood, this event combined fashion, food, photo booths, candy, music, and fun.
Valerie Mayen’s new Companion collection honors her late friend and mentor. The collection was presented in 7 chapters spanning her life. The pieces were lovely, but made even more so by the meaning behind them.
Head on over to Yellowcake Shop to pick up a Christmas gift or two, plus a little something festive for yourself!
On Saturday, my friend Tracy hosted a Thirty-One party. I’d never been to one before, but there were lots of cute organizer and tote items. Plus, it’s always nice to have a relaxed afternoon with old friends!
Sunday morning, Matthew and I attended the John Carroll Alumni Mass and Brunch, held at St. Ignatius High School. I was honored to be reading at the Mass and it’s always nice to be involved with John Carroll events.
If you’re a Carroll alum, be sure to attend either (or both) the Alumni Christmas Reception on December 3 or the Cleveland Breakfast with Santa on December 8. Click here for more information and to register.
Sunday afternoon, the game plan was to attend the Fabulous Food Show, however all my possible companions (Matthew, my Mom, and my Dad) were all suffering from various levels of head colds, so after the JCU event, I decided to cut my losses, head home, and take care of my husband.
I did end up making a very tasty dinner of herb-crusted Faroe Island salmon, with roasted fingerling potatoes with lemon zest. Totally tasty and healthy, too!
Funniest part was that I found the recipe on Buzzfeed: it’s good for more than just cute puppy pictures!
So, how was your weekend?
