  1. One person? The old everyone gets the more difficult it becomes! Some years my husband is the easiest, other years the most difficult. My mom can be the same way – it’s easy or impossible. Even the kids, as they are now older, are not simple like when they were little.

Last year, believe it or not, we didn’t buy a bunch of gifts. We enjoyed the season, maybe more than ever, but we bought each of the kids a new pair of pjs… at our house it’s a race to see who can get into pajamas once we are in the door… and we bought my mother a gift. That was it. It was so soothing. Christmas was full of family and food. We played games and ate lots of cookies. My time was spent baking instead of shopping.

This year I need to get rolling with the shopping. I’m not sure yet how much we will do, but I want to be able to do something more like what we are used to doing around the holidays. My tree is already up! I’ve never done that before. Maybe it was the lack of stress last year which has me in the spirit this year.
