I have to confess, the unofficial end of summer had me kind of bummed out. As much as I love fall, this summer has been so fun, especially getting to explore so many things through Jeffrey’s eyes. So, we made the most of the last weekend of summer!
On Friday, we met up with my friend Tracy and her daughter at the Geauga County Fair. In all my years of country-concert going, this was my first county fair! We had a great time checking out the animals…
…eating classic fair food (this is Jeffrey’s first bite of an elephant ear)…
…and getting to see some “celebrities.”
All in all, a very fun morning! This may have been my first county fair, but it won’t be my last!
It was a beautiful night to practice, listen to inspiring speakers, and unite with other engaged, passionate Clevelanders. The featured speaker before our practice was Councilman Joe Cimperman, who spoke not only about Cleveland’s amazing renaissance, but also about his newfound love for yoga. His words reminded not just what I love about Cleveland, but why yoga is so powerful and such a worthwhile thing to make time for in my busy life.
After a great practice, I grabbed a lemon ricotta popsicle from Chill Pop Shop and took in the beautiful scene.
What a great night!
The rest of our weekend has been filled with family time, from a cookout at my parents’ house to enjoying time with Matthew’s family. Jeffrey got to splash and play in the same creek Matthew enjoyed when he was growing up, which I think is just awesome!
Today, we got in one last visit to our favorite splash park with some of our favorite friends! What a perfect end to a perfect summer! Hope your weekend and your whole summer were just as grand!
