It was a busy and fun fall weekend! On Friday, Jeffrey and I met up with friends at Sunrise Farm. It was a bit too cold and windy for the corn maze, but we had fun exploring the pumpkin patch (the wagons were a particular draw).
We also stocked up on some of Sunrise Farm’s own apple cider, which is very tasty, and apple butter, too. ‘Tis the season!
On Saturday, Jeffrey and I met up with my college friend Tracy and her daughter for John Carroll University‘s Homecoming. The weather made the street fair a bit soggy, but we still managed to take advantage of this adorable photo opportunity.
We also grabbed grilled cheese with bacon sandwiches from The Spread, a new-to-me food truck that gets points not only for speedy and yummy food, but for the chocolate chip cookies for the kiddos they added to our orders.
The kids had a great time running around the dining hall and had no idea that they weren’t doing exactly what we thought we’d be doing that day. Pretty good lesson for just rolling with it, no?
Saturday evening, we all headed to our friends’ Dominic and Kelly’s house for a clambake. Good food, good beer, and good friends made for a fun fall evening!
On Sunday, we met up with Alicia and Hans for some seasonal fun (in much better weather) at Patterson Fruit Farm’s Fun Fest.
There were a ton of slides, hay bales, pony rides, hand carts, apple fritters, and more for kids both big and small to enjoy (for evidence of this, check out Alicia’s Instagram). Since it was a beautiful Sunday, it was insanely crowded and, while we had a great time, I think with a small fry I’d stick to Patterson’s Market location, which has all the same tasty goods, plus a quieter pumpkin patch and play area.
Never ones to slow down, we hurried home to host a small family birthday party for Matthew’s dad. It was a great weekend filled with all sorts of fall fun! How was your weekend?
