I’m back in Cleveland after a fabulous weekend in Las Vegas! I hadn’t been to Vegas in about six years, so quite a bit had changed and grown. Similarly, my interest have changed and grown. The fun thing about Vegas is that whether you’re into gambling, clubbing, or relaxing at the spa and pool (*raises hand*), there are some great options.
Before I get to recapping some of the highlights though, I have to explain why we were in Vegas. My dear friend Jen got married there! Matthew and I were so honored to get to share in her special day and intimate ceremony.
I am over-the-moon happy for this couple! They are so wonderful for each other, are a great balance, and are truly so much fun. I couldn’t think of a better reason to travel!
So, what else did we do while in Vegas? Well, we ate…a lot. Here are some of my favorites from the trip:
The crab-stuffed avocado from the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Not only does this restaurant have great views, but this is one of the tastiest things I’ve put in my mouth in a long time.
The fried brie appetizer from Voodoo Steak. Sure, the steak was delicious, but this appetizer really put the meal over the top.
The scallops with spicy garlic from Nobu. So good.
The drunken milkshakes from Holstein’s Shakes and Buns. I had the coffee and donuts, with coffee ice cream, Patron XO Cafe, and cake donuts. Heavenly.
We did more than just eat, though. We rented a cabana for the day at the MGM Grand pool and had a wonderful time floating, drinking, and sunning.
One of my favorite experiences of the trip was yoga with the dolphins at the Mirage. We got a one-hour vinyasa class, taught in the dolphin sanctuary area, which means the dolphins kept swimming by the whole time.
Pretty cool to be in downward dog and see a dolphin float by. It was a really relaxing and unique way to spend our Sunday morning!
We also went to see the Penn & Teller show, which was fun in its own right, but also even more so because Matthew, Jared, and I all got chances to go up on stage to participate in illusions!
Finally, one of my favorite parts of the trip was getting to dress fancy and sparkly…it is Vegas, after all. I tried Rent the Runway for the first time and could not have been happier with my selections and the experience overall.
Matthew looked pretty handsome too!
It was a fun and fabulous weekend of celebrating a wonderful couple in a very fun town!
