Why? Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar!

A couple weeks ago, I met up with my friend Melissa to celebrate her birthday with some delicious, spicy food at Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar (whose sister concept, BOMBA, is also awesome). One of the things I love about Paladar is that it’s like a taste of summer even when it’s cold and snowy!

We started with cocktails and guacamole. I had the superior strawberry mojito and we split the spicy guacamole. Paladar serves their guacamole with tortilla chips, along with yucca, plantain, and malanga chips. So good!

For dinner, we each went with the taco platter, which comes with three tacos and rice and beans. Melissa chose the grilled sweet potato tacos with hearts of palm, tomatillo salsa, and pinto beans. I had the slow braised duck served with pickled onion and pineapple slaw, because it’s me and it’s duck.

Everything was so flavorful! Another Paladar favorite of mine is the ropa vieja, a spicy braised beef dish served with plaintains, that you can order in either appetizer or entree portions.

Paladar also offers a great happy hour that runs from 4-7pm daily and then again from 9-11pm Sunday through Thursday. There are $5 mojitos, margaritas, and sangria; $2 off wine, beer, and specialty cocktails; and discounted appertizers and small plates ranging from $3.95-$7.95.

For some spicy, tasty food that will take the chill away, I highly recommend Paladar!
