On Saturday, we hosted Jeffrey’s second birthday party at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark. While the big birthday isn’t until this Friday, we started the celebrating a bit early with some of his little friends and their families.
Since the party was at the Farmpark and Jeffrey is particularly enamored with a certain red Sesame Street monster, I went with a Farmer Elmo party theme. And since I’m not crafty, I relied on Etsy to help me find the perfect decorations. Iconica Design did a wonderful job with invitations, personalized treat boxes, and adorable decorations for the room.
We ordered the cake from Cakes To You. They not only make delicious cakes (I adore their not-too-sweet frosting), but the cakes are also adorable!
We were able to bring our own food to the Farmpark, so I ordered pizza from a nearby favorite: Guido’s Pizza Haven. Pizza and chocolate cake? That’s a menu that made both 2-year-olds and grown-ups happy!
The morning was a bit drizzly, but there’s plenty to do inside at the Farmpark, from the Dairy Parlor to the indoor play area.
Once the weather cleared up, we headed outside to see the animals, including the new baby pigs and the sheep shearing weekend activities. The rainbow sheep (dyed with Kool-Aid) was definitely a highlight (get it, highlight…dyed sheep…)!
Jeffrey also had a great time opening all his fun presents…
…and seeing everyone from his friends to his grandparents to his godparents.
He’s really getting to the age of understanding that the party was for him and he had so much fun!
Having a birthday party at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark includes room rental, all-day Farmpark admission for your guests, a little red wagon for the birthday kid, and a group wagon ride around the Farmpark (you can also book pony rides, but our guests were a bit small for that). This was a great spot for a party! There was plenty for kids and their families to do, plus the staff at the Farmpark is so nice and friendly! We had a wonderful time celebrating our very favorite little man!
