Last night, Jeffrey and I were treated to a delicious and utterly adorable high tea at the brand new The Macaron Tea Room in Broadview Heights.
This light, airy, and well-appointed Tea Room features comfortable high-backed chairs, sparkly chandeliers, gorgeous china and flatware, and a kids’ corner with books, as well as beads, crowns, fans, bow ties, and fedoras to turn your little one into an elegant date for high tea.
The Macaron Tea Room has a wide selection of organic, loose-leaf teas and French Press coffee. Children can get a tea pot, just like the grown-ups, but filled with milk.
I started with the wedge salad, with bacon, hard-boiled egg, diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded beets, and carrots, topped with the delicious house-made ranch dressing.
Everything at The Macaron Tea Room is made in-house, ensuring amazing flavor and quality. Then we were presented with the High Tea three-tier plate.
The bottom tier features 5 sandwiches: cucumber with cream cheese and chives, smoked salmon mousse canapes, shredded egg with garlic spread, chicken salad in a puff pastry cup, and avocado and bacon.
It’s hard to pick a favorite, so I’ll just say the cucumber and the chicken salad top my list. But they were all incredibly tasty, light, and flavorful.
The second tier had a scone with clotted cream and fresh jam, petit four, and apricot cookie.
I would like to spread the jam on everything! And the petit four was as lovely as it was tasty!
The top tier featured a waffle cake (layers of waffle and chocolate cream) and a signature macaron.
How sweet it is! The waffle cake was amazing! Of course, the homemade macarons are fantastic, with flavors available in the macaron shop that change every couple of days.
Jeffrey enjoyed a classic grilled cheese cut out like a star…
…and a totally fun, interactive paint-your-own cookie for dessert featuring edible frosting “paint.”
What a unique idea and a great way to keep him entertained during high tea! Of course, he also snagged one of the delicious macarons.
The Macaron Tea Room can create edible art on their macarons. How incredible are these?!
We also got to sample some of The Macaron Tea Room’s amazing eclairs, which are as pretty as they are tasty!
For an entirely sweet experience from top tier to bottom, don’t miss out on The Macaron Tea Room (or just stop by their sweet shop for a macaron or éclair or two)! The Grand Opening is Friday, May 4.
***Disclosure: Jeffrey and I were invited to attend a complimentary soft opening at The Macaron Tea Room. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***
