Why? Locavore Giveaway!

What is a locavore? A person who makes an effort to eat food that is grown, raised or produced locally, usually within 100 miles of home.

Sounds like a lot of you Fresh Fork folks out there! On Friday, September 7, the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society is holding a fundraiser dedicated to celebrating locavores.

The event will take place at Windows on the River, with beautiful views of downtown CLE. Guests will enjoy wine and beer paired with hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats from restaurants including AMP 150, Corleone’s, John Palmer’s Bistro 44, Momocho, Indulgence, Nosh Eatery, Carrie Cerino’s, Lilly Handmade Chocolates, and more. There will also be a silent auction with more locavore-inspired goodies.

At Locavore, the MS Society will be honoring Brunswick-native Adam Riedy with the Individual of Inspiration Award. Riedy is a former member of the U.S. National Short Track Speedskating Team who, at 19, was diagnosed with MS. He was a 2002 Olympic hopeful when an MS relapse ended those dreams, but not Riedy’s hope and determination.

Tickets for Locavore are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here. There are two ticket levels: Event Ticket, which gets you wine, beer, chocolate, pastry and hors d’oeuvres pairings for $75 and Patron Ticket, which gets you all of the above plus an exclusive champagne tasting and a chance to take home a bottle of bubbly for $95.
