Why? Weekends!

It was a busy weekend, but it seems like they all are these days! Friday night, Matthew and I went to the Grapes and Ale fundraiser at Progressive Field.

This awesome blend of wine, beer, BBQ, and blues is all to benefit Our Lady of the Wayside, which provides services for the developmentally disabled. From a huge wine selection (all of which are available at Giant Eagle) to an expanded selection of tasty craft brews, there was no shortage of tasty thirst quenchers.

The Earthquake Zinfandel, Troublemaker Blend, and Cocobon were my favorite wines and the ReHive Ale and Black Box Brewing Co. Western Reserve Cloud Nine were my favorite beers of the evening.

The BBQ didn’t disappoint either, with spicy sausage, wings, and cornbread from Famous Dave’s; a delicious pulled pork with spicy chipotle slaw from Battery Park Wine Bar; ribs from Mavis Winkle’s and Hot Sauce Williams; and beef brisket from 100th Bomb Group.

We also ran into lots of friends and got to listen to the awesome blues-y sounds of Colin Dussault’s Acoustic Side Project.

Grapes and Ale was a fun evening in a great location for a very worthy cause! Coming up next for Our Lady of the Wayside is their Amateur Golf Championship on Monday, August 12. Click here for more details.

Saturday, the summer wedding season continued with the wedding of Matthew’s cousin Grace.

Since it was a family wedding, we not only got to celebrate the happy couple, but we also got to spend time with the world’s cutest nieces!

Cheers to wedding season! We have two more to go this year!

Sunday, after down-dogging it at Harmony Yoga, Matthew and I had a relaxed backyard BBQ with friends. A little guacamole, a little grilling, and a little Cards Against Humanity made for a great afternoon. If you haven’t played the game, it’s like Apples to Apples but for really twisted minds. We definitely had a lot of laughs and I did really well, but I’m not sure what that says about me!

How was your weekend?

***Disclosure: I was asked by Our Lady of the Wayside to help promote Grapes and Ale. In exchange, I received 2 complimentary tickets. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***
