Why? Weekends!

It was a weekend of shopping fun in Cleveland! Saturday night, Mom and I went to the Compassion from Fashion event at Beachwood Place. This annual event combines food, shopping discounts, and a fashion show, all to benefit The Gathering Place and UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

We enjoyed delicious bites from Maggiano’s Little Italy ans Sixth & Pine, including butternut squash ravioli, carved turkey, antipasta, salads, and sweets. Then it was time for the fashion show, which included professional models, local celebrities, cancer survivors, and families from UH Rainbow.

Hosted by Allan Fee and Katherine Boyd from Q104, the show included WEWS Channel 5 producer Carrie Ann Young and her adorable pup, Glenn Anderson from Q104 and his sweet daughter Madeline, and lovely Twitter friend @emberlivi.

It was a fun night for a great cause!

On Sunday, Matthew and I checked out The Cleveland Flea holiday show.

The Flea had a great mix of new and vintage items, from Christmas ornaments that hearken back to things I remember from my grandma to cool Cleveland glassware from Blastmaster.

There was also lots of tasty food, both to eat at the Flea and to take home, from pierogi from The Pierogi Lady to ice cream sandwiches from Mason’s Creamery to jams and sauces from Pope’s Kitchen.

It was awesome to see how many people were out supporting local Cleveland artisans. Hooray for shopping local!

How was your weekend? Are you as excited as I am for a short work week and the holiday ahead?

***Disclosure: I was asked to help promote Compassion from Fashion. In exchange, I received two complimentary tickets to the event. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.***
