Why? Great Big Home and Garden Show Giveaway!

This March marks two years since Matthew and I moved into our current home. Each year has brought it’s share of both big and small projects, despite not buying a “fixer upper house.” Year One was having  a fence installed, both to keep puppies in and deer out.

Year Two was having a new roof put on because, well, you need one of those. Usually if I spend that much money on anything I like to be able to drive it or wear it, but Matthew is right that staying dry and warm is a good thing, too!

This year’s project? Nursery preparations, of course! And every year, the Great Big Home and Garden Show has proven to be a god-send as we undertake these projects.

From February 8-16, the I-X Center will be filled with exhibitors ready to inspire and help complete any home project, from the big to the small.

There is the Garden Showcase, which is my favorite part to walk through when it’s cold and snowy outside. This year’s theme is international, exotic locations and there will be local restaurant tastings incorporated in the Showcase on February 10 and 11.

There are also local and national celebrity guests on both the Main Stage and the Loretta Paganini Cooking Stage.

  1. Decorating & organization are always things I like to work on… but since we’re still in an apartment there’s only so much we can do. We finally have a balcony though so I’d really love to get some potted plants and try my hand at growing herbs.

  2. My boyfriend and I live in a 2 story loft in the Tower Press building. While the downstairs is pretty much taken care of (coordinating as a kitchen, art studio, and living room) the upstairs needs work. There’s a bed…and that’s about it. So much space, so little inspiration on how to fill it. I would love a reading nook, study area, maybe an office? Who knows, I’m hoping the Home & Garden show will help!

  3. We desperately need a new bath tub. The remodeler who did our house before we bought it just painted over the old one (genius right? lol) Btw…congrats on the baby! If you need nursery tips just let me know.

Me and my fiance just bought a new house and we have a blank canvas in the basement. We would love to get some great ideas on how to finish it.
