***A bit of blogkeeping: Congratulations to @tinktastic (Comment #2), randomly-selected winner of 2 weekend passes to the Cleveland Garlic Festival. Please check your email for details. If you didn’t win, you can still purchase one-day admission tickets online.***
We have no shortage of culinary talent in Cleveland and one of the things I love the most about that talent is how much they give back to our community. FRESHTOBERFEST is an example of this great community commitment.
On Friday, September 18, Dee Jay Doc, Chef Brian Doyle, and Tri-C’s Hospitality Management Center will host an epic chef battle. Chefs from area restaurants such as L’Albatros, Red the Steakhouse, and Hub 55 are paired with youth gardens and compete based on best taste, presentation, and educational impact.
You’ll get to taste the creations and cast your vote for your favorites. There will also be a concert of fresh new hip-hop songs recorded by Fresh Camp program participants.
Proceeds from the event benefit Fresh Camp, which helps motivate Cleveland youth to grow healthy food in their school and community gardens. There are three tickets levels: VIP for $50, Supporter for $25, and general admission for free. Click here to purchase tickets.
This is sure to be a fun event with a great benefit to Cleveland’s kids!
