Aside from checking out the Money Museum, there were a lot of other things to fill our weekend! On Friday afternoon, Jeffrey, my Mom, and I went to Creekside Restaurant for a tasty traditional Lenten fish fry.
I had the Pick Your Perch and Mom had the Walleye Your Way. Whichever you choose, you can’t go wrong with this mild white fish with tasty breading, french fries, and coleslaw. I do love me a good Lenten fish fry!
On Saturday, Matthew and I took Jeffrey to Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed at the Cleveland Convention Center. This one-weekend-only event was filled with animatronic dinosaurs, including ones the kids could ride, as well as dinosaur inflatables, places to dig for dinosaur bones, and more.
This reminded me of Dinosaurs Alive at Cedar Point, just a bit more hands-on. Jeffrey had a great time seeing and riding the “roars,” as he calls them. It was definitely something fun and different to do!
After all those dinos, we worked up an appetite so we popped over to Winking Lizard at the Galleria for a good, family-friendly meal (with some nice craft beer too).
Not only did Ben lead us in a spontaneous performance of “Fever,” but he managed to convince us that we are all artists. I’m not sure how I feel about that after seeing my finished piece, but I will say that I always have fun at these events, mostly because I always have good company!
After our painting adventure, we stopped at Yours Truly for dinner. I’ve always loved Yours Truly for burgers and other sandwiches, but I decided to give their General Tso’s chicken a try and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! I also really liked the spicy Asian vegetables and saffron rice that came with the chicken.
Also, while we were there, we saw two older couples sharing milkshakes, which was truly the sweetest thing ever!
While I was getting artsy, Matthew and Jeffrey checked out the Cleveland Auto Show, which Jeffrey absolutely loved. He’s still talking about the purple truck and red car he saw!
I think Matthew might still be talking about that red car too!
All in all, it was a really nice weekend! Hope yours was great as well!
